About Wondershare PDFelement

Wondershare PDFelement 13.0.1 is a PDF editor for Windows from Wondershare Technology. You download PDFelement when a free reader is no longer enough and you need to change text in a PDF, convert it to Word or Excel, fill and sign forms, or make a scanned document searchable.

What PDFelement does

PDF is meant to look the same everywhere, which also makes it awkward to change. PDFelement treats a PDF more like a word processor document: you click into a paragraph and edit the text, move or replace images, add links, headers, page numbers and watermarks. Pages can be reordered, deleted, extracted, rotated or merged from several files. The conversion module turns PDFs into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images and other formats, and creates PDFs from almost any file you can print. For forms, the program recognises fields automatically, lets you fill them in and can build new interactive forms from scratch. Documents can be signed with a drawn or typed signature or a certificate, protected with passwords and permissions, and redacted to remove confidential text permanently. OCR recognises text in scanned pages so you can search, copy and edit it. Recent versions also include an AI assistant that summarises, translates or explains the contents of a document. The interface uses a ribbon similar to Microsoft Office, which makes it quick to learn.

Main features

  • Editing of text, images and links inside PDFs.
  • Conversion to and from Office formats and images.
  • OCR for scanned documents.
  • Form filling, form creation and electronic signatures.
  • Password protection and redaction.
  • Page management and batch processing.

System requirements

According to the official tech spec, PDFelement for Windows supports Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 and needs an Intel Pentium 4 processor or higher, 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended) and 2.5 GB of free disk space for application files. A Mac version exists for macOS 11.0 to macOS 26. The installer is about 207.16 MB according to catalogue data.

How to install

  1. Download the installer from the official PDFelement website.
  2. Run it and follow the setup steps.
  3. Start the program and sign in with a Wondershare ID to activate the trial or a purchased licence.
  4. Open a PDF and choose Edit, Convert, OCR or Form from the top menu.

Price

PDFelement is commercial software. The trial lets you test the features, but it adds a watermark to saved documents and limits some functions. Full use requires a subscription or licence; prices are listed on the official site.

Security

Download only from wondershare.com and check the version history for updates. Avoid cracked copies, and be careful with AI features for confidential documents, since those may be processed online.

Pros and cons

  • Pro: full text editing, not just annotation.
  • Pro: strong conversion and OCR.
  • Pro: familiar Office-style interface.
  • Con: watermark in the trial.
  • Con: subscription cost for occasional users.
  • Con: large installer.

Alternatives

Free options on our site include PDF Candy Desktop, PDFCreator for making PDFs, and Adobe PDF Reader for viewing and signing. ILovePDF handles many tasks online, and LibreOffice can export and edit some PDFs.
